Yoked with Jesus
““Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”
(Matthew 11:28–30)
Everything is Better with Jesus.
I stand by this and will forever. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the reason we can do all things. When we choose to yoke ourselves with Him we receive strength beyond our own. It is beautiful.
I am so so grateful for a loving Savior who strengthens and sustains me through the seasons of joyful creation and those of heavy hearts and challenging circumstances!
I came across this poem from my friend and I share it with you with his permission. May it bless you as it has me.
Yoke with Christ
(A poem I wrote during Sunday School a few weeks ago - Matthew Pilling)
I brought my yoke unto the Lord
And bade He share the load.
I told Him of my weighty freight;
Of the long and winding road.
Then I bowed to lift my yoke
And waited there for Him.
Expectantly, I signaled
It was time to come strap in.
He looked at me and warmly smiled
And said, “Do you not see?
Your load does not salvation bring.
Come, yoke yourself with Me.
So tired and worn in your pursuits,
My promises you’ve missed.
Rest and relief to you will come
When you in my work enlist.
The tasks I ask do not seem grand,
They will not bring you fame.
But they will help your fellow man
To learn and love my name.
If you stay with your own yoke,
In some things you’ll be blessed.
My yoke is easy, my burden is light,
And I will give you rest.”
I slowly removed my loaded yoke
Concerned at what would be,
For, what would happen to all my cares
If He would not lift them with me?
But, as I set my yoke upon the ground
He gently pulled me in
And I felt a strength unknown before
As I worked alongside Him.
The cares we bring unto the Lord
Are no longer ours to carry,
No more let them weigh you down,
Be no longer wary.
“Come lay your burden at my feet
And there, just leave it be.
My yoke is easy, my burden is light.
Come yoke yourself with me.”

“And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord”
Mosiah 24:15

Here are some powerful messages from God to help us on our journey to Jesus and ultimately back to Him. I truly believe that we are meant to have JOY in life and that our challenges give us strength- they need not be a burden - they can be our greatest blessings as we invite Jesus into every aspect of our lives!
Overcome the World and Find Rest
making and keeping covenants actually makes life easier! Each person who makes covenants in baptismal fonts and in temples—and keeps them—has increased access to the power of Jesus Christ.
Bear Up Their Burdens with Ease
“Is the load I am carrying producing the spiritual traction that will enable me to press forward with faith in Christ on the strait and narrow path and avoid getting stuck?
Is the load I am carrying creating sufficient spiritual traction so I ultimately can return home to Heavenly Father?”
The unique burdens in each of our lives help us to rely upon the merits, mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah - see 2 NE 2:8
His Yoke Is Easy and His Burden Is Light
We are commanded to love others,6 not to judge them.7 Let’s lay down that heavy burden; it isn’t ours to carry.8 Instead, we can pick up the Savior’s yoke of love and compassion.
In our own great times of need we must not leave unrecognized this unfailing answer to the cares and worries of our world. Here is the promise of personal peace and protection. Here is the power to remit sin in all periods of time. We, too, must believe that Jesus Christ possesses the power to ease our burdens and lighten our loads. We, too, must come unto him and there receive rest from our labors.
